Stay tuned after the credits for From Tanzania in Love for a casual conversation between return moderator and festival fave Marc Epprecht PhD (Dept of Global Development Studies at Queen's University) and Dayon Monson, the stunning and fascinating subject/star of From Tanzania with Love (directed by the terrific Raymond Helkio). Thanks to the CFMDC for always putting amazing films on our submission radar!

Thank you to our Community Sponsor: The Queen's University Department of Global Development Studies.

An immigrant artist in Iowa retreats to frozen prairies, forests, and swamps, trying to find a meaningful story and escape from the anxieties of dislocation. Delivered as a film-letter to the protagonist’s little sister in rural China, the film considers his self-exile as well as mental health struggles that were too shameful to address back home.
