From 2002 until 2010, Judy held the CAW Sam Gindin Chair in Social Justice and Democracy, having been appointed to it upon its creation.   She hosted two national TV shows on CBC in the 1990’s and is also the founding publisher of rabble.ca, Canada’s most active independent online news and discussion site.  She is the former president of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women and was a spokesperson for the pro-choice campaign that won legal abortion in Canada in the 1980’s.  


Judy has authored several books, including Ten Thousand Roses: Transforming Power: From the Personal to the Political, The Making of a Feminist Revolution and her most recent memoir, Heroes in My Head.

Darrah Teitel is a socialist, playwright and sexual rights advocate. After working for the Federal NDP for five years on the Status of Women portfolio, she now works for a real feminist organization, "Action Canada for Sexual Helath and Rights", formerly Planned Parenthood Canada. Among her most recent theatre credits are The Omnibus Bill about Pierre Trudeau's 1969 abortion legislation and Behaviour, about labour and sexual abuse on Parliament Hill. Since moving back to Toronto last year, she has become an active member of the Ontario Coalition for Abortion Clinics.
