The Earth Sustains Us is a selection of 5 short Canadian films about cultivating and caring for the earth.

The program includes: Mnoomin: The Gift of the Creator, The Hands That Feed Us, Walking with Plants, Conserving Catchacoma, Toxic Neighbour

Our national food infrastructure depends on the contributions of migrant farmworkers who work on farms, in greenhouses and processing plants throughout Canada. Before the pandemic, over 20,000 people accounted for the seasonal agricultural workforce in Ontario alone, arriving through the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP). But advocates for migrant workers have raised concerns related to workers’ rights and sometimes abusive treatment because of the power imbalances created by the structural inequity of this program.

"The Hands That Feed Us" tells the story of Roberto Garcia and Julie Fleming at Circle Organic in Millbrook, Ontario.
