The Art Gallery of Peterborough is a non-profit public gallery dedicated to exhibiting and collecting visual works of art. They present contemporary visual art by artists from the region and across the nation. Some historical and international works are also shown. Exhibitions are supported with programs including artist talks, workshops, tours, publications, and the gallery shop.
Kawartha Truth & Reconciliation Support Group is a group of First Peoples and Settlers whose aim is to educate, first ourselves, then others. We are trying our best to become an example of what reconciliation looks like: people working together and treating each other with respect, justice and equality.
For more than 50 years, Trent has incorporated traditional teachings and perspectives into its curricular and extra-curricular programming. In fact, Trent’s groundbreaking leadership in Indigenous Studies dates back to our beginnings, when we became the first university in Canada, and only the second in North America, to establish an academic department dedicated to the study of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous knowledges. It’s just one of the ways we think differently, and inspire our students to do the same.
