Join Joseph and Junaid from Creator’s Garden for a discussion exploring the depth of ecological knowledge embedded in Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) bird names, and the significance of learning through Indigenous language. While Western scientific naming often emphasizes physical characteristics, geographic range, or colonial attribution, Anishinaabemowin offers insight into the roles these remarkable flying beings play within the world. Through this lens, participants are invited to consider how we can better support bird populations for generations to come.

This virtual workshop takes place on February 3 at 6 PM. A recording will be made available as soon as possible during the virtual festival, following online screenings of Boodjara.
