World Premiere Artist Bio: Sara Wylie (she/they) is a chronically ill filmmaker, producer and researcher from the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations (aka Vancouver, BC).Sara graduated with distinction from Toronto Metropolitan (formerly Ryerson) University’s Documentary Media MFA Program in 2019, and is the recipient of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and SSHRC. Sara's films have screened at Vancouver International Film Festival, DOXA Documentary Film Festival, RIDM Documentary Festival, the Canadian Labour International Film Festival, Workers Unite Film Festival and more. @sara_wylie

Invisible WorldA processing of a recent doctor appointment through moving images serves as a reclamation of the doctor’s ignorance, as well as an assertion for understanding disability and the physical world otherwise. ﻿Artist Bio: Kym McDaniel uses moving images, collage structures, text, gesture, and the body to explore chronic illness, queerness/disability, and trauma recovery on screen. She has an MFA in Cinematic Arts from the Department of Film, Video, Animation, and New Genres at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. <a href="http://www.kymmcdaniel.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">www.kymmcdaniel.com</a> More about the film: To apply for an accessible or Crip parking placard, a doctor within the state must approve the application. As part of the application, there are six medical conditions which qualify a person for a placard. These conditions include: (1) cannot walk two hundred feet without stopping to rest; (2) cannot walk without the use of an assistance device; (3) is restricted by lung disease; (4) uses portable oxygen; (5) has a cardiac condition; (6) is severely limited in their ability to walk due to an arthritic, neurological, or orthopedic conditions. Many people with disabilities are included these categories, and many people are not. This film is a record of my introduction to healthcare in the state of Utah. My processing of the appointment and consequential aftermath as a video object serves as a reclamation and assertion for understanding disability and the physical world otherwise. Long-Covid and the Culture of DisbeliefA film that fell sick with long covid and a creative, personal-political exploration of what gives rise to doctor’s disbelief. International Premiere Artist Bio: Rowena Harris (they/them) is a queer, crip artist, researcher and educator based in London, UK. They engage time-based media through a variety of styles and techniques, including CG animation and archival footage. They often draw on their disabled and queer experience to pursue alternatives to ‘normative’ filmic paradigms, such as time, space, movement, narrative, and to explore and engage crip art praxis - coming to new ways of knowing the world through crip artistic doing. Operating primarily in contemporary art, their awards include the Elan Valley – MAC award (UK); DYCP Arts Council England; SPACE residency (UK); Rupert Residency (LT); Sainsbury’s scholarship The British School at Rome (IT). They have had recent solo exhibitions with Phoinix (SK); Las Palmas (PT); The Gallery Apart, (IT); Coleman Projects (UK). And group: Ormston House (IE); Trafó (HU); Culturegest, Fidelidade Art Porto (PT); MAC, Copperfield Gallery, Space In Between, Tenderpixel, The Bluecoat, Bloc Projects, Flat Time House, The White Cube, The Barbican, Karst (UK), Agnes Varis Centre, (NY, US); Fondazione Memmo, Artissima, Galleria D’Arte Contemporanea O.Licini, (IT).
