The young director Paul Mureșan’s heart-rending short animation Cradle reveals the damage long-lasting wounds can do if left unaddressed. Powerful, dark visuals flow to the tune of a lullaby, almost a whisper, recounting the consequences of domestic abuse and alcoholism.

Completed in 2020, Mureșan’s animation has already won three major awards: in 2020 it was selected at Warsaw IFF and at Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, and in 2021 received the Special Mention and the Best Short Film award at Transylvania IFF.
