In her 1993 Senate confirmation hearings, Ruth Bader Ginsburg said, “The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a woman’s life, to her well-being and dignity. It is a decision she must make for herself. When the government controls that decision for her, she is being treated as less than a full adult human responsible for her own choices.”  The Tucson J, in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona’s Women Philanthropy is hosting a three-part series featuring two films and a post-film program that will highlight the life and legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, explore how her Jewish background shaped her leadership in the realm of women’s rights and showcase a time in our nation’s history when women did not have legal access to healthcare.  The goal of the series is to inform and not dictate or persuade anyone’s beliefs around abortion.
