Joshua, a Zimbabwean refugee living in an informal settlement dreams of winning a cycling championship as a means to finding a better life. His dream is shattered when he narrowly survives a

xenophobic attack during which his father and grandmother lose their lives. Destitute, Joshua makes his way to Cape Town where fate intervenes in the form of an accident that shatters his knee. He

is given shelter and a job by Mambo, a Fagin-esque villain who poses as a philanthropist sheltering refugee teenagers from all over Africa.

When Joshua meets Olivia, a mixed race girl his own age, from a privileged background, he gains a new perspective on the world. Joshua learns that he need not succumb to the world of crime to

survive but that, if he has the courage, he can create the life he wants.

Contains some scenes with violence and drug use.
