Based on the best-selling novel by Dalene Matthee and set in the 1800's, 'Fiela Se Kind' tells the story of Fiela, a mixed-race woman living in the arid Karoo, who takes in a lost white child and raises him as her own. Nine years later, the boy who she named Benjamin is removed and forced to live in the Knysna Forest with a family of woodcutters who claim that he is theirs.

Separated by law and geography, Fiela and Benjamin spend the next decade trying to find each other while simultaneously coming to terms with their individual identities.

From writer/director Brett Michael Innes (Sink), the film was awarded the SAFTA for Best Film and Best Screenplay at the 2020 South African Film & Television Awards and was the most nominated feature that year
