An investigation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s inspiration & aspiration, featuring works by Frescobaldi and Telemann also.
Sands Films Music Room is proud to present an ambitious series of five concerts of baroque harpsichord music. The project is a musical tour of Europe with each concert programme linked to a country or region. All the concerts are broadcast and recorded so that the whole series can be shared with others and watched again. Sands Films Music Room continues its policy of providing unconditional access to music: as at the Zimmermannsche Kaffeehaus in Leipzig where JS Bach performed each Friday night, there is no charge. We rely entirely on your donation, feedback and sharing of our work by word of mouth. As more people become aware of The Music Room, the easier it becomes for small contributions to have a meaningful impact.

An exploration of 17th & 18th century France through the works of Élisabeth Claude Jacquet de La Guerre, Louis Couperin, Francois Couperin and Joseph-Nicolas-Pancrace Royer.

A concert celebrating the 400th birthday of William Byrd and the work of his English contemporaries.

Saturday 19th August at 1400.
The famous Café Zimmerman of 18th century Leipzig comes to London! Join for 90 minutes of coffee and Baroque orchestral pop.
Concert No. 5 THE IBERIAN SCHOOL
Thursday 21st September at 2000
The "Iberian key" was coined by the pioneers of the recovery of the repertoire for keyboard written in Portugal and Spain between 16th and 18th centuries. Join us for a discovery of this repertoire, which culminates with the sonatas of Scarlatti and Soler.

European Tour: Jack Gonzalez-Harding, harpsichord
Praised for his “brilliant infectious enthusiasm” by The Spectator, young conductor, keyboardist and improviser Jack Gonzalez-Harding is forging a career as one of the “leading lights” of his generation.
Recent and upcoming highlights include Jack’s debut guest conducting engagements with the London Mozart Players and Hallé Orchestra, alongside debuts at the Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Barbican, and St. John’s Smith Square for Bach’s B Minor Mass. Already, Jack has established collaborative relationships with leading internationally acclaimed artists such as Dame Emma Kirkby, Nicholas Daniel, Mary Bevan, Fenella Humphreys, Zoë Martlew and Sir Mark Elder.
Born in 2003 in Kent, England, Jack initially trained as an exhibitioner of organ at the Royal Academy of Music before beginning studies in harpsichord and improvisation with David Gordon at the Purcell School. Currently at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Jack is a mentee of the Head of Music alongside his harpsichord studies in Paris with Pierre Hantaï.
