Concert No. 3: Matt Robson + Hajdukino: Splitting It
AV & digital music works that examine the psychogeographic aesthetics of the urban environment
"Matt Robson and Hajdukino (Stewart Morgan) are a producer/visual artist duo that collaborate to create AV works that examine the psychogeographic aesthetics of the urban environment.
Morgan's work is usually situated within the realms of the documentarian, producing films focusing on jazz and experimental musicians in performances, via interviews and archival material. For this project, he mixes impressionistic digital video footage with analogue slide projections utilising his extensive personal image library to create rich, dreamy ruminations on the built environment.
For his part, Robson eschews his usually dense and chaotic electronica for melodic post rock inspired ambient and neo-classical musings, attempting to guide the listener to the very heart of the gauzy and slightly inebriated vision of Morgan's rich and sumptuous city dreamscapes.
