Art of Work examines the intersections of hip hop dance, Filipino identities, colonial legacies, and the pursuit of healing through a choreographic mentorship. A multidisciplinary process culminates in a dance film that tackles the toils and artistic triumphs of the Filipino diaspora.

In 1997, the groundbreaking Filipino singing group "Touch" made history by performing at the 53rd presidential inaugural ball, marking the first time a Filipino singing group performed for a U.S. president. At a time where the entertainment industry was dominated by Black and white artists, Their performance at the inauguration marked the dawn of an era where these unsigned Filipino recording artists shattered racial barriers in the music industry.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Fast-forward 30 years to a world transformed by technology and social media, where diversity is celebrated, THE TOUCH STORY paints a picture of the struggles and triumphs faced by Touch as they advocate for diversity and representation. This short documentary showcases their journey and fosters a new era of Asian Pacific Islander artists. Their story serves as a testament to the enduring power of unity within communities and the indomitable spirit of those who dare to dream. The in-person screening of THE TOUCH STORY will immediately be followed by the Touch Throwback panel discussion and a special performance by Rogeniv Mamaug.
