Shot and storyboarded with a bag of Hot Cheetos in hand, these dynamic and well-versed films were created by and for the youth. This block showcases fresh perspectives and vibrant storytelling that are as bold and unforgettable and that are sure to stick to you like Hot Cheeto dust. These engaging films capture the voices, struggles, and dreams of young creators, offering a powerful reflection of their experiences and the world they envision.

Intertwining themes of justice, freedom, self-discovery, and joy - Black Like Me gives us a lens into what it's like be young and Black. Captured in the Hilltop community of Tacoma, WA, Black Like Me gives us answers towards progress. This short film was originally made for The Grand Cinema's 253 Short Film Competition. Participants get 72 hours to make their short film. The requirements were: it had to be under 253 seconds (4 minutes and 13 seconds), it had to include a discarded item, a flashback, and the line of dialogue "a lot of people have it worse."
