"I play it cool
And dig all jive
That’s the reason
I stay alive.
My motto,
As I live and learn,
is:
Dig And Be Dug
In Return." - Motto by Langston Hughes

Each film invites audiences to explore the creativity and innovation that thrives beyond mainstream cinema.

This project is incredibly special and holds more sentimental value than anything we’ve ever created. It’s steeped in nostalgia, reflecting the love and strength of the Black women who raised me—my mother, grandmother, aunties, and countless homegirls. I wanted to honor their stories and their legacy with this work.
Black women’s hair culture is often overlooked and underappreciated in the mainstream. Despite being the most beneficial & influential people in the hair industry, Black women’s contributions and preferences are not highlighted as they should be. This industry has profited from them for decades, yet fails to truly celebrate or understand them.
Black women are the heartbeat of the hair industry. The passion and care they put into their hair is immense. I’ve seen how a bad haircut can affect your mood, confidence, and self-esteem. The investments made in our hair reflect its significance. So, let’s celebrate that.
