By suddenly dismantling safeguards the EPA had enacted to protect the salmon, water and people of Bristol Bay, the current political regime in the United States has unilaterally revived a mining corporation’s relentless pursuit to build North America’s largest open-pit copper mine directly in the headwaters of the most prodigious wild sockeye salmon run in the world.The Wild is a race against time. The proposed Pebble Mine is spurred by a sympathetic Trump administration working to have it permitted by 2020. At stake is the survival of a keystone species that feeds 137 different creatures - including us - in a wild place that is the last of its kind on Earth. Bristol Bay feeds the entire world with its salmon, starting with the Indigenous People for whom wild salmon have been their Everything for over 5,000 years. Filmmaker, Mark Titus worked in the Alaska salmon industry for 25 years and now focuses his lens and his passion for wild salmon on the conflict in Bristol Bay. This battle for Alaska’s soul mirrors Titus’ struggle to reclaim his own – and becomes a harbinger to a larger, global question: How do we reconcile human separation from the natural world that sustains us – and if we can change course - how do we save the wild that remains? Vibrant characters from Bristol Bay set the stage and impactful, world-renowned Ambassadors like Mark Harmon, Yvon Chouinard, Zaria Forman and chefs Tom Colicchio and Tom Douglas light it - as all ponder what it means to potentially lose North America’s last great wild migration. Fresh into addiction recovery, an urgent threat emerges to spur filmmaker, Mark Titus back to the Alaskan wilderness - where the people of Bristol Bay and the world’s largest wild salmon runs face devastation if a massive copper mine is constructed.

A firestorm of poaching and illegal trade is raging around the African pangolin. These shy, defenseless animals suddenly find themselves in the spotlight as they’re pushed to the edge of extinction. They are being trafficked to the Far East in staggering numbers, and yet this curious little creature is one of the most elusive on the planet. Many people have never heard of it, very few have seen it in the wild and it does not survive in captivity. Due to an increasingly insatiable market in Asia, their pangolins have disappeared almost entirely. They are poached and killed for the supposed medicinal value of their scales and as a dining delicacy where a single serving of pangolin meat can cost up to US $3000. The decimation of the Asian species has seen a dramatic spike in demand for African pangolins. Two award-winning South African filmmakers are on a mission to capture the African pangolin on film in the hope that if people come to know it, they will care enough to help end this horrific trade. They travel the continent of Africa to track down these beguiling creatures about which so little is known, aiming to learn from those caring for and studying them.
