Tijuana is a city that has been producing the best boxers in Mexico for the past three decades. This borderland, home to migrants who dream to go to the U.S. and people who are affected by the war on drugs, has been able to produce twenty-one world champions in boxing. Many other boxers from Tijuana have also been able to be protagonists in fights taking place internationally in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the United States. Legendary boxers formed in Tijuana such as Julio Cesar Chavez and Erik Morales are on the list of the best in history.

The trainer Romulo Quirarte is one of the architects of this boxing capital, working from his gymnasium at the training center "Crea". With Romulo's leadership, this gymnasium has been a place for positive transformation for many children and teens for the past forty years. This gymnasium is surrounded by popular neighborhoods where organized crime set up meth labs, safe houses, migrant traffickers, and sicario groups. Thousands of teenagers try to escape from this hell and end up in this gymnasium. Aside from boxing, Romulo teaches them values, discipline, conditioning, and above all, to stay out of trouble.

The film features boxing legends, referees, managers, judges, artists, and promoters from the border and explain how this boxing movement started in Tijuana. Romulo Quirarte talks about his challenging childhood, misery, growing up an orphan, and how he overcame these obstacles to move forward through boxing to make his family proud.
