In his family’s basement, Nasir goes Live! presenting his new invention to the world, called The Love Machine.The Love Machine’s intentions resemble a time machine, but here, participants specifically go back to the past to reframe moments of their childhood that caused them trauma. Nasir puts this concept to the test by inviting his distant older sister, Nadia to be his first subject.Reluctant and annoyed, Nadia finds herself inside Nasir’s creation— a strange tin-plated full-body chamber. She is guided by her brother and a mysterious computer voice to return to early memories with her parents that impacted her anxiety and mental illness. Unaware of how these situations affect her adulthood, Nadia triggers the machine with her fear and doubts causing the Love Machine to go into “survival mode.”Still guided by her brother’s voice and the mysterious computer voice, Nadia is encouraged to believe that even in difficult times love can still exist. Once she trains her mind to trust what’s guiding her, Nadia not only reimagines her memories, just as Nas intended but possibly builds a new world inside the Love Machine.Unbeknownst to Nas, this will be his only mission. The ancestor from the beginning wakes up, revealing that this was all a dream or possibly a memory— leaving Nadia trapped in the machine and Nasir reading his last comment on his Live story before he mysteriously disappearsThe ancestor awakens.
