A shy, 14-year-old Deni struggles to find acceptance as her domestic life and friendships collide. In this coming-of-age portrait, Deni navigates the complex worlds of gender, family, and adolescent friendship in the harbor city of Split, Croatia. Encircled by patriarchal and conservative customs, Deni struggles to find connection and understanding both within the confines of her domestic life and school cliques.

Eva Vidan is a Croatian-American director, graphic designer, and photographer. A recent MFA graduate and Miloš Forman Directing Fellow at Columbia University, Vidan has worked internationally at the intersection of moving image and design since 2015. Vidan’s directorial debut, PLIMA, won Best Short Film at Trieste Film Festival 2023 and premiered at several major festivals across Europe, including Pula Film Festival and Vienna Shorts.
