The documentary GALEB tells the story of The Seagull, a ship used by the president of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, on his 14 voyages to 18 countries in three continents, where it docked in 29 ports (some of them multiple times) and crossed 85 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots (157.420 km), over the period of 479 days. He used these voyages to establish the Non-Aligned Movement, one of the largest alliances of world countries, which was second only to the United Nations and, at the time, the third bloc of the Cold War. Many major world powers entered the alliance, including: India, Indonesia and Egypt, while the alliance also gathered a large number of the then-decolonised countries of the world. The Seagull was an important instrument in the implementation of Tito’s foreign policy, and Yugoslavia was at the helm of the Non-Aligned Movement, with Tito as their leader.

Ivan Živković is a Croatian journalist, TV director, documentary film producer and screenwriter, born in Šibenik in 1982. His directorial debut was the film entitled ĆIRO, a documentary film about Miroslav Ćiro Blažević from 2006, while he also directed three films in the documentary quadrilogy VAROKOŠKI AMARCORD.
