WALK THIS WALK: Short Film Block

SNAKE tells the bitter-sweet story of the friendship between a nine-year-old daredevil Mario and an eccentric, gay young man. Challenged by the fear and prejudices of Mario's parents, the two characters navigate friendship and acceptance in a remote Macedonian small town.

Born 1985 in Macedonia, Andrej I. Volkashin graduated film directing at NATFA in Sofia, Bulgaria. His short documentary NOTHING IN THE AIR premiered at Sofia International Film Festival in 2008. His graduation project KINDER SURPRISE (2011) was awarded the Audience Award at the SIFF; A medium length musical comedy SHUSH…SING TO ME (2013) premiered at the Vilnius IFF 2014 and is already enjoying a cult status in Bulgaria. That same year, he participated at Berlinale Talents and Sarajevo Talents. His short script FICUS (2018) was selected in the program Sarajevo, City of Film and premiered during the Sarajevo IFF in 2018. Volkashin is developing his first feature film THE SWEET BITTERNESS OF RIPE POMEGRANATES with TorinoScriptLab.
