Logline : Living in the mundane suburbia of a small Irish town, teens Diana and Sol plan to escape by building a spacecraft and living in the sky. When doubt starts to set in, they have to decide whether to pursue their dream or remain in their familiar world and face the inevitable.

Synopsis : In a nowhere small town in rural Ireland, the days blur together. Grey skies. Grey uniforms. Grey futures. On graduation day, Diana and Sol run through the streets, late as always. It should be a celebration, but something about it feels off. Their classmates are changing, slipping into something else. They speak in a strange, broken static like distant signals from forgotten space stations. Their faces fade into the background. This is what becoming an adult looks like in Farraig Mor.

Diana is certain she wants no part of it.

Tucked away in a quiet field, she and Sol have built a spacecraft — crooked, makeshift, but theirs. It’s their way out. To the stars. To something better. Diana is ready to leave, Sol is unsure. As the weight of home and the pull of the unknown collide, they must decide whether to chase their dream or stay in a world that’s already shifting beneath their feet.

Why the Sun & Moon Live in the Sky is a surreal coming-of-age folktale told through dream logic, chaotic collage, and cosmic longing. A story about escape, friendship, and what we risk when we grow up.
