Following the shocking results of the 2016 U.S. Presidential election, women across the country took to the streets, the internet, the media outlets, and the Capital organizing one of the most phenomenal resistance movements in political history. Fueled by anger, fear, and hope, activists came together to rally for not only women’s rights, but immigration rights, LGBTQ rights, racial justice, social justice, and equal representation in government. Restisterhood follows six women who became grassroots activists leading the resistance in the fight for civil rights, advocating for change, inspiring women across the country to be more politically active, and getting more women elected to office. These stories of hope and commitment re-energize a movement to inspire change now and for future generations.
