In war zones, refugee camps, crowded hospitals, and forgotten corners of the world, Dr. William Novick and his team perform life-saving heart surgeries for children who otherwise have no chance. Tiny Hearts follows their dangerous, emotional, and extraordinary journey across decades of work in conflict regions where hope is scarce and time is never on their side. Moving between operating rooms, devastated communities, and the faces of families waiting for miracles, the film becomes not only a portrait of an unsung hero, but a reminder of what compassion can still look like in a world defined by violence and division.

Tiny Hearts is one of those films that feels impossible not to respond to. The subject matter is inherently powerful, but the film succeeds because it matches that subject matter with strong filmmaking, excellent access, and real emotional momentum. Dr. Novick is an incredibly charismatic and compelling figure, but the film also makes space for the humanity of the people around him. It is not just about one heroic doctor; it is about an entire team bringing life into places defined by war, instability, racism and loss. - Lucy Hanna, SF DocFest
