Maggie, is the first woman and newest detective on the constabulary facing all of the "challenges" (read: sexism/misogyny/homophobia) of being a super smart butch in a dress in 1910.

It’s her first day on the job and Maggie is forced into the menial task of searching for a lost dog instead of finding a contract killer by the blatantly misogynistic/ethnocentric/homophobic sergeant. He also assigns her a chaperone to keep her in line.

Of course, in the end, Maggie wins the day (and the girl and the dog and solves the big case), but not the medal. But maybe, it was a little too much winning in the girl department – after all, it was just ONE kiss…
