A bold, genre-blending short film exploring themes of sex, survival, connection, and identity through an unflinching, darkly funny lens. The film stars John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig &amp; The Angry Inch, Shortbus) and is written, directed by, and starring Justice Singleton.---Justice Singleton is a Black trans director, writer, educator, stand-up comedian, poet, and drag burlesque artist based between New Orleans and Mississippi. The eldest child of Academy Award-nominated director John Singleton, Justice grew up steeped in the film industry before forging their own distinct path as a multidisciplinary storyteller.A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Justice has worked across TV and film, and founded Justify Writers, a meditative writing program focused on radical education and systemic storytelling. Justice’s work has been featured at the BlackStar Film Festival, Cannes, Academy Museum, Studio in the Woods, and more. Justice was the 2024 Winner of the New Orleans Pitch Festival for Cockroach. Off-screen, they run a trans-queer farm in Mississippi, and continue to write, perform, and teach across the country.

Cockroach

A surreal and emotionally charged story of a late-night hookup turned existential odyssey, Cockroach follows a Black trans man and an older gay white man as they navigate an unexpected interruption.

A trans documentarian heads to Roswell, New Mexico with a small film crew to come out to his family and get it all on camera. On the road to Roswell where an infamous UFO crash allegedly happened in 1947, the crew listens to a sci-fi podcast which piques the camera operator’s curiosity about the town's history and ignites her obsession with UFOs and Aliens. While the director tries to keep the crew focused his coming out story, the stars may have something else in store for this production. ROAD TO ROSWELL is a short concept film based on StormMiguel Florez’s feature mockumentary, "Welcome To Roswell," which is currently in development.---StormMiguel Florez is a trans, queer Chicane filmmaker, actor, and music maker whose work includes the films "The Whistle” (Producer/Director) "MAJOR!” (Co-Producer), and "Vulveeta.” (Co-Producer). StormMiguel received a SFFILM/Rainin development grant for his screenplay, “Welcome To Roswell,” and was a part of the inaugural cohort for the Sundance Trans Possibilities Fellowship. His first acting role was at the tender age of ten in the made for TV movie, Police Woman Centerfold, filmed in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. StormMiguel resides in San Francisco.

A trans filmmaker returns home to Roswell, New Mexico to document coming out to his family, but his partner’s obsession with the 1947 UFO crash threatens to take the project in a very different direction.

Autumn's directorial debut, Flash Sale, had its world premiere at NewFest 2025 where it received Runner Up for the Narrative Short Audience Award, and its international premiere at BFI Flare.
