A decade after her twelve year old daughter was murdered, a mother camps outside Mexico's National Palace to demand justice from the country's first female President.

In 2015, Fátima was walking home from school in southern Mexico when she was killed by three neighbours. Since that day, her mother Lorena Gutiérrez has fought for accountability, taking her case from local courtrooms all the way to the Mexican Supreme Court and now a direct appeal to President Claudia Sheinbaum. Structured as a letter from mother to daughter, Dear Fátima follows Lorena and a group of mothers of femicide victims as they set up camp in Zócalo Square in the days before International Women's Day 2025. Directed collectively with Lorena and her husband as co-directors, the result is an unflinching portrait of grief turned to action in a country where the UN estimates ten women and girls are murdered every day.
