Shaina Silver-Baird and Daniel AM Rosenberg, respectively the co-creator/star and director of Less Than Kosher, joined us for a Zoom Q&A following our in-person screening of the film.


Shaina Silver-Baird is an actor, musician, creator, and producer from Toronto. She is the co-creator/co-writer, executive producer, and star of Less Than Kosher (Filmcoop Inc.) which premiered at Toronto Jewish Film Festival 2023 and won the Audience Choice Award. It was also the hit of the 2023 TO Web Fest, winning Best Writing (for Shaina & Michael Goldlist); Best Actor (Shaina); Best Comedy, and the Grand Prix. Shaina has worked at major theatres across Canada and toured to the U.S., Europe, and Middle East. Most recently Shaina toured North America as Chaya/Violinist in the award-winning, international sensation Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story with 2b Theatre (6 Drama Desk nominations). She is currently starring in In Seven Days at The Grand Theatre in London, Ontario. Shaina has been nominated for a MyTheatre Award for Outstanding Performance and won a Dora Award for Best Ensemble. Shaina is also the lead singer/songwriter for electropop band Ghost Caravan and previously led folk band Crooked House Road. 


Daniel AM Rosenberg is an award-winning writer and director from Toronto, Canada, creating engaging, humorous, and touching works. He co-created and directed the CBC Gem comedy series The Ninth and developed and directed the comedy series Cam_Girlfriend. Daniel has directed scripted and unscripted programming airing on CBC, A+E Networks, FYI,HGTV, MTV, Much Music, and AMI. He recently directed season 2 of Cam_Girlfriend. Daniel was also a finalist in the 2023 Just For Laughs CBC Comedy Pitch program. He got his start directing music videos, where he won an iHeartRadio MMVA for Rock Video of The Year, as well as a JUNO nomination for Video of The Year.
