Call Me Miles tells the moving story of a young man who feels trapped in a woman’s body. This searingly honest and exposing documentary charts the challenging journey of Miles’ growing up, and his attempts to live a meaningful life and find acceptance and happiness. Miles speaks openly about his desperate struggles with puberty and high school, whilst battling prejudice and ignorance. The impact on his middle-class Afrikaans parents is also sensitively explored by director Wynand Dreyer. Miles describes this film “as a call for authenticity, not only for himself, but for every trans or non-binary South African”.
