Eschewing national fame in favor of down-home appreciation in the 60s, TK Hulin, known as “The Bayou State Tearjerker,” “The Voice with a Tear,” or simply “The King,” blew up East Texas and South Louisiana nightclubs while gaining a cult following of adoring fans who revere him to this day. Becoming a Swamp Pop and Mercury Records rock star, he chased Elvis up the charts while heavily settling into the Gulf Coast dancehall empire alongside his brother, B-Lou, his drummer of 51 years.
