Dastan (Daniar Alshinov) can no longer stand the constant nagging of his highly pregnant wife (Asel Kaliyeva) and decides to run away for at least one day with his friends -- a would-be businessman, and a district police officer. The men decide to go fishing and everything would have gone smoothly, if not for a series of unforeseen, sudden, incomprehensible, violent, and irreversible events. Kazakhstani director and co-writer Yernar Nurgaliyev brings us a black crime comedy that plays out like an Eastern European Coen brothers film, packed with eccentric characters making bad choices that lead them further down the spiral to… well, that would be telling. Genuinely surprisingly, shocking, and hilarious, Sweetie, You Won’t Believe it is a comedy of errors with guts.

“…imagine if The Hangover was directed by The Coen Brothers.” (John Dotson - Monsters & Critics)

“…an exciting, scary, and funny ride, with a rather terrific ending.” (Bobby LePire - Film Threat)
