Director Biography - Xinyi Zhu
Xinyi Zhu is a filmmaker born and raised in Suzhou, China. In her work, she aims to explore intimate relationships, genders, and topics about trans-corporeality and poststructuralism.
Her most recent short KINDLING premiered at Palm Springs International ShortFest. Currently, she co-directs a USC-Warner Bros. fictional feature PHANTOM that is looking to be in production Summer 2020. She is developing her first feature NANZHOU BROTHERS, which she also wrote.
Xinyi is currently based in LA as she pursues her MFA in Film Production at USC as a Jon M. Chu APAA Cinematic Arts Scholar. She holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from UCLA.
