Growing up, Sandra was perplexed by her father's impersonal behavior toward everyone - including her. In BACK TO THE SOURCE, she chronicles her memories and perception of her father's story in an effort to better understand him. She begins to recognize his struggle to assimilate in the US as well as feel at home in the place he grew up. She has a passion for spurring empathy using film and bringing the arts back into public education. She is excited about the rise of streaming services, while nostalgic for when movies were best consumed in a theatre. Her favorite TV show is AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER, and her favorite documentary is ISLAND OF THE HUNGRY GHOSTS. Sandra graduated from UCLA with a BA in Film, TV and Digital Media and a minor in Asian American Studies.

Michelle's interest in subtitles and subtext within the relationship of word and image comes from her interest in bridging language over the waters of Bay Area and Seoul. When Michelle is not creating, she likes to spend the time writing handwritten letters and postcards to her friends and family.

She earned her BFA in Illustration/Animation at California State University Long Beach focusing on 2D animation. Her character animation strengths have granted her two internships at Pixar. Trilina’s animations and stories capture the timeless nuances of life, and embody a diverse usage of various textures and colors. She is currently based in Long Beach, California and spends her free time trying out new foods and cafe sketching.

I am currently working in Beijing, China, as a storyboard artist.
