After graduating from college, a second-gen Chinese-American revisits the places that defined each era of his life: early adolescence in the suburbs, fresh independence in a big city, and his ancestral hometown in China. Using the method of “method of loci,” or “memory palace technique,” he captures the conflicting emotions and memories conjured by familiar spaces in each location, examined against the backdrop of his family lore. He then releases them through a loosely narrated experimental documentary: Memory Palace.

Steven is an independent filmmaker from South FL/ Southern CA and based in San Francisco. His learn-by-doing approach to filmmaking has culminated in dozens of short projects and millions of views across platforms.
Steven completed his BA at the University of Southern California.
