An emotionally haunting and visually beautiful experience, ‘Ciervo’ tells the story of a young girl who holds violence, submission, and independence in an uneasy balance as one morphs into the other.

An animation created by two unexpected friends on opposite sides of the earth. Created by Dana Sink (United States) and Ivica Širanović (Macedonia). Ivica and Dana corresponded throughout 2019 and 2020 and bonded through their love of animation and the curiosity about each other's culture. Ivica did the stop motion animation from his studio in Macedonia and Dana did the 2D animation from his studio in the US.

Freeze frame: the most absurd technique since the invention of the moving image. Through an elaborate process of duplicating the same image over and over again, it creates the illusion of stillness. In this stop motion film, identical figures perform the hopeless task of preserving blocks of ice, like archivists. The repetitive movements reanimate the animals captured inside.

Freeze frame: the most absurd technique since the invention of the moving image. Through an elaborate process of duplicating the same image over and over again, it creates the illusion of stillness.

Escape velocity: the minimum speed needed for an object to escape from the gravitational influence of a massive body, without ever falling back. An astronaut awakens in an abandoned cave of a strange planet. An interstellar vagabond, so to say. A light path leads him to the surface, where he looks at his compass and heads for his spaceship. He keeps glancing back, treading nervously, looking afraid. He has been chased by a creature for a long time, and his only way to break free is to escape this curious planet.

Escaping from an alien planet, an astronaut must reach the space shuttle before a mysterious beast catches him.

Dinner Time is a hand-drawn animation about the power dynamics within a hyper-nuclear family. This film focus is on the identity of the housewife and the impact of gender roles on the child.

Dinner Time is a surreal hand-drawn animation about the negative impact of harsh gender roles within a nuclear family.

"Lah gah" lets us dive into sunny childhood memories, when a girl is singing and cooking with her father. An intimate moment, so simple. But they’re swept along by the wafting mass of dough into the emotional depths of loss and disappearance; Helpless, the child is trying to grasp what is not tangible.

These two characters who got separated in a world without context take ‘action' to find each other. This work represents a modern world in dislocation, in which the Internet is the new normal. In order to express this random world, I’ve combined some materials that were created for different purposes and with varying methods. This way, the final animation turned out to be inconstant, and that even the author-myself could not predict the outcome.

Kapaemahu reveals the healing power of four mysterious stones on Waikiki Beach – and the legendary transgender spirits within them. Long ago, four extraordinary individuals of both male and female spirit brought the healing arts from Tahiti to Hawaii. Beloved by the people for their gentle ways and miraculous cures, they imbued four giant boulders with their powers. The stones still stand on what is now Waikiki Beach, but the true story behind them has been hidden – until now. Narrated in an ancient Hawaiian dialect, Kapaemahu brings this powerful legend back to life in vivid animation, seen through the eyes of a curious child.
