We all like to think that when the fists start flying, we'll be ready to act, but when faced with this fight or flight scenario, John chooses the latter, and it doesn't help that it was in front of his girlfriend either. While that embarrassment alone is enough to destroy a man's self-esteem, it's the thought of his favorite TV heroes and deceased father now looking down upon him with great shame that sends our protagonist into a downward spiral where he is forced to confront his own masculinity and hopefully prove himself as a man in front of his dearly beloved before it's too late.
