In anticipation of our 49th annual book sale, the Friends of the UW-Madison Libraries is excited to bring you this opportunity to see The Booksellers, a fascinating documentary that dives into the world of buying, selling, and loving books. We hope you enjoy!

Watch the film and then, if you are in Madison, Wisconsin, celebrate books with us at our MEGA book sale, October 20 - 23 at Memorial Library, 728 State Street. Enjoy great prices, a fun atmosphere, and a high-quality selection that is twice the size of our last book sale, two years ago.

If you don’t live in the area, consider supporting our book sale virtually by giving to the Friends! The last three book sales were canceled due to the pandemic. All proceeds support the UW-Madison Libraries via the Friends organization.

A behind-the-scenes look at the New York rare book world and the fascinating people who inhabit it. Antiquarian booksellers are part scholar, part detective and part businessperson, and their personalities and knowledge are as broad as the material they handle. They also play an underappreciated yet essential role in preserving history. The Booksellers takes viewers inside their small but fascinating world, populated by an assortment of intellects, eccentrics and dreamers.
