Various forms of embodied labor, and the search for labor, intersect with other(worldly) concerns in these four films—potent works of fiction, documentary, and poetic hybrids of both.

On the busy Avenida Duarte in Santo Domingo, vendors stand beside mountains of clothes and compete for passing customers. But the hypnotic rhythms of their daily grind contrast with the life of, and their lives in, the city at night.&nbsp;

PACAMAN

Named after Édouard Glissant’s theory, Errantry considers the Caribbean Sea and the life sustained by it, raising questions about time, labor, and the continuance of colonialism.

ERRANTRY

Myrlande lives in a seaside village in Haiti. Six months pregnant, she awaits news of her husband, who left on a boat for the United States in search of a better life for his family.

AGWE

Raudel lives and works in a ship-breaking yard in the west of Cuba. Haunted by a strange childhood memory, he is on the lookout for ghostly presences.
