A celebrated filmmaker returns to Algiers with his son in this bittersweet semi-autobiographical dramedy, revisiting a multicultural childhood torn apart by the Algerian War of Independence. Antoine reconnects with a neighborhood of Jews, Muslims, and Christians—and with memories of school, friends, his Sephardic upbringing, and the vibrant streets of the casbah.
