When Israeli-American educator Liat Atzili and her husband are kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, her family is thrust into a crisis unfolding on the world stage. Holding Liat stays deliberately close to one family and their particular experience, following her loved ones as they advocate for her release while wrestling with fear, uncertainty, and their own complicated understandings of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Produced by Darren Aronofsky and winner of the Berlinale Documentary Award, the film is an intimate portrait of one family trying desperately to bring someone they love home.

Presented in partnership with the Weintraub Israel Center.
