I liked that it was a documentary and that it told the story of an environmental issue in another country. It was very interesting to learn of the domino effect the USSR caused on this sea-haven and inspiring to learn about all the people coming together to help it. The fact that it was about conservation was just another plus! Return Sasyk to the Sea

The former Soviet Union orchestrated amazing infrastructure projects on a grand scale - yet the Soviet Union has long since collapsed, and with it the dam in Sasyk. One community in southern Ukraine takes on corruption, politics, and environmental damage to help a lake that wants to return to the sea. Follow the journey of these activists as they relentlessly confront bureaucrats and poachers and work to protect and restore this ecosystem.
