Neela Nira Sooriyan (English title: Blue Sunshine) follows the journey of a high school teacher wanting to transition from male to female while working for a conservative school in a small town in south India. Her transition, and the reactions from her parents, fellow teachers, school administration, and students, in ways both predictable and surprising, form the crux of this beautifully filmed story.

What our screening reviewers said: "The main character - Aravind - has amazing onscreen presence. I couldn't take my eyes off her."

"Arresting, authentic look at contemporary South India."
