Mira Sorvino, John Savage, Amr Saad, and Jessica Hosam star in this gripping drama of a young woman sold into marriage, an American company looking for water rights in the Middle East, and a goat. Hadyia is twelve years old, an orphan, and pregnant. She takes the road to freedom with only her goat as companion. Her story is a very personal one, but it also forces others to confront traditional norms of all types: family honor, control of land, respect for elders, the rights of girls, and the role of outsiders.
What our screening reviewers said: "Gorgeous."
"Powerful."
