Director's Statement:

My name is Ian and I can't wait until you watch my short, The 1971 Kitchen Grand Brie. This project has been a labor of love, combining practical techniques, 3D printing fabrication, stop motion animation, and filmmaking & editing wizardry into a live action/animated hybrid work that I believe can be an inexpensive model for creating animated content in the future. The aim of the project is to take the true-crime documentary conceit and expand it into a 10 episode short series, in the likes of the Cartoon Network program “Over the Garden Wall.” In the series — about the length of a feature film in 10 minute increments — we’d follow our protagonist, Marc, who survived the blender 20 years ago. He has gone from happy-go-lucky Canadian poutine, to dejected and joyless rotting potato. His daughter, a spunky and naïve tater tot, convinces him to start a new team to win back his glory. But little do they know that a similar conspiracy is being concocted behind the scenes by ‘other’ provisions. Nothing ever really changes in Formula Food… I hope you enjoy my film!
