It was only after the death of the famous Hungarian-born structural engineer Paul Weidlinger that his filmmaker son Tom found out he was Jewish. In this searingly honest documentary, Tom traces four generations of his family history – from antisemitic Europe to refuge in South America and, later, the USA. Bravely, Weidlinger addresses his mother’s and sister’s madness, his father’s secrets and his own feeling of being weighed down by his family’s emotional struggle.
