On the cusp of turning 40, Israeli wheelchair-badminton champion, Nina Gorodetzky, aims to compete in her first Paralympics in Tokyo. Spanning three years, this engaging documentary chronicles the challenges of being an elite athlete with a disability, and provides an intimate window into Nina's family life, and her desire to conceive a second child, whilst coping with an unwell parent. Fast paced and entertaining, the film portrays Nina as an inspiring woman, showing with empathy her commitment to realising her sporting and personal dreams. Nina is an Athlete premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival, 2024, was selected for the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival, 2024, and the New York Jewish Film Festival, 2025, and won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at La Jolla International Film Festival, 2024.
