Israel, 1950s. British newlyweds Fay and Reginald Morris visit Eilat, the country’s southernmost city, and instantly fall in love with the place. They decide to settle there, and integrate fully into their new community while maintaining their English way of life. Over the next decades, Reginald, a beloved medical doctor, would obsessively document the life of his family with an 8mm camera –capturing precious moments of unalloyed joy alongside others of profound sadness and loss. Based on Reginald’s home movies and narrated by Fay and her children, this intimate documentary is a celebration of family love and a fascinating record of Israel in its early years.
