Mexico, March 2015. Carmen Aristegui, incorruptible journalist, is fired from the radio station where she has worked for years. But Carmen continues her fight: raising awareness and fighting against misinformation. The film tells the story of this quest: difficult and dangerous, but essential to the heath of democracy -- A story in which resistance becomes a form of survival. Juliana Fanju received her BA in Visual Communication and attended EICTV (the International Cinema and TV School of San Antonio de los Banos), documentary department. She worked as a director’s assistant from 2012 to 2014 she acquired her Masters in Cinema Studies from a joint program between Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne and Haute Ecole d’Art et Design.

Philippe Coeytaux has successively held numerous positions in television and film production since 1998. Since spring of 2015, he has been a member of Akka Films’ management as a senior producer.

Nicolas Wadimoff is a Swiss director, documentary filmmaker, and producer. He graduated from Universite du Quebec a Montreal in communications with a specialization in cinema. He worked as a film director at RTS and he founded Akka Films. He had directed more than 20 films, among themClandestins,Aisheen, Still Alive in Gaza,Spartiates and The Apollo of Gaza, which have been shown at film festival such as Berlinale and Canne’s Director’s Fortnight.

Jose Cohen is a journalist turned documentary producer. He started his career initially as a soundman for NBC, some of his assignments included: the war in Chechnya; the assassination of Pablo Escobar in Columbia; and the assassination of Cardenal Posadas Ocampo in Guadalajara. By 1997, Jose had founded Cactus Film and Video, which to date is one of Mexico’s key providers of production services for independent production companies.
