The Bed
Thalia is a London-based writer/director with an interest in queer film, horror, dark comedy, and the absurd. She originally went to Oxford and studied French and German literature and language. During her year abroad she worked in film production companies in Paris (Federation Entertainment) and Berlin (One Two Films). In her last year at university, she made her first short film, ‘unlucky.’, a dark comedy horror about a job interview that goes horribly wrong. Thalia has recently completed an MA in Directing Fiction at Goldsmith’s University. After graduating, she plans to continue writing and directing films and also get a qualification in intimacy coordinating.
An Extra Day In Prague: Jacob Ramsay is an American director based in Prague, Czech Republic. He blends documentary and fiction filmmaking techniques, collaborating with non-actors, whose characters' lives run parallel to their own. His films meditate on themes of family, often focusing on transitional moments when a character must leave something, or someone, behind. Jacob holds an MFA in Film Directing from Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) and a BA in Film Studies from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania (USA).
Motion-The Measure Of Time: Currently completing her final year of a BA degree in Film, Marva Gregorio De Souza (Pixie) made her first short film independently in 2015 and has been making them with a passion and several award nominations ever since.

I discovered cinema and audiovisual through image education devices, workshops, and options (in middle school and high school). At university, in parallel with my studies in Social Anthropology (where I went until obtaining my Master 2), I started making films. Today, whether through documentary, animation, or live action fiction, I aspire that my productions have both a dreamlike dimension and both an involvement in the real.
Eating Papaw On The Seashore: Rae Wiltshire
I’m a playwright, theatre director, journalist, screenwriter and a filmmaker. I am from Georgetown, Guyana. Filmmaking is not practiced often in our country and we do not have the infrastructural development for filmmakers. But I am a tenacious person. I managed to shoot my first short film with a crew, Eating Papaw on the Seashore. The film was selected to be screened in several film festivals, including California, Guyana, Kenya and Canada. This is an accomplishment for myself, especially since the support is not always available to Guyanese filmmakers. My journey in filmmaking started when I was 18. I had read books on film and consumed videos via Youtube. It is my hope to grow the local filmmaking industry in Guyana. Although not trained via a university, I believe studying literature and linguistics has helped to shape my understanding of characters and stories.
This story is about a man from the shadow world which is known as the shadow of the earth. This world is both existent and non-existent, the earth is inhabited by life and contains so much colour that the concept of its shadow must be the opposite of it and in order for the world to exist the shadow world has to have a single organism to occupy it in which the man has always been in. He came to for fill a wish he was granted by the creator to come to the real world to see something beautiful as he requested then when his time runs out he will have to return to the shadow world for the remainder of eternity. A girl was out taking pictures and as she takes a picture on the open filed out of nowhere he appears in front of her, as she stands shocked in curiosity she goes to him and as they speak the man requests that she shows him something beautiful, she agrees and the jenoury they shear together begins. After a week’s worth of adventures as she tried to show him something beautiful he doesn’t seem to see any beauty in this world for his eyes have no life of colour nor beauty to see and appreciate, this doesn’t discourage the girl for she continuously try’s to make him smile and see beauty. As they jenoury through the short time they shear together they exchange each other’s experiences of life. Now the time has come for him to return to the shadow world and as she was at her place looking at pictures of their memories together she notices a picture where he is finally smiling and she places the picture in her pocket so she can show him and cherish it but soon after she also sees the pictures they took together the man is staring to disappear in them. As he is slowly disintegrating she is rushing to him and gets in time enough to take the crystal and break it, by doing so she chose to sacrifice herself to give him a chance to live life as she will take his place as the prisoner of the shadow world. As she starts to fall he catches her and she starts disintegrating, she gives him the picture she had in her pocket of them together where his smiling. She disintegrates and he looks at the picture and realizes that while all along this time he was searching for something beautiful and thought he won’t find was always with him which is her, her existence was the true beauty of this world and now she’s gone to the shadow world never to meet again leaving him in the real world but he feels that this world has become the same as the shadow world for he lost his true purpose to be here which was her.
