We always look for a sense of belonging, whether within a family or a community. Belonging/Unbelonging is a short film set looking into the lives of people who struggle to fit in. How do we navigate a new way of life in a foreign land or a homeland that makes you feel foreign (Good Chips and I Am No One)? Can we, as outsiders, grow to be part of a community (Dawn of Skates)? How can we overcome the expectations of elders, especially when one might not be able to communicate with them (Hyphen)? This set offers insights into human relationships and connections. - Jiyon Byun

[I Am No One contains a brief scene of implied violence.]

Imagine you're having dinner with your family and suddenly the police comes and takes away your husband. He's being deported. Mai has to experience this herself as she's now on her own with raising her 10 year old son. Meanwhile she does her best to get her husband back with a huge language barrier.
